Suspect in Madras, Redmond iPhone thefts arrested during 2nd alleged try at Madras store; companion still sought

MADRAS, Ore. (KTVZ) – Madras police have arrested one of two suspects in the theft of more than a dozen iPhones at stores in Madras and Redmond a few months ago after she allegedly returned to the Madras store and tried again to use false ID to make another purchase. Officers are still seeking the public’s help in finding her alleged companion.

Police said the two women went to US Cellular in Redmond on Jan. 23 and stole eight iPhones worth about $9,000, presenting a fraudulent Oregon driver’s license to obtain the phones by opening several new cellphone coverage plans.

It’s believed the same women were involved in a Dec. 17 theft of three iPhones at the Madras US Cellular last Dec. 17, also using a fraudulent Oregon driver’s license. Redmond police released security photos of the pair on Feb. 1 and requested the public's help in locating them.

Last Wednesday, Madras police arrested Tiffany Nunn, 27, on charges of first-degree theft, possessing false ID and identity theft.

Madras police Officer Karen Correa's affidavit said she was dispatched to the store last Wednesday when a employee called police to report the woman involved in the previous theft was back trying to make another purchase, using false ID.

Court records show Nunn, listing a Eureka, California address, was arraigned last Thursday on the first three Class C felony charges and a judge set bail at $50,000.

Nunn was arraigned Wednesday afternoon on a grand jury indictment listing four Class C felony counts and one Class A misdemeanor in the Dec. 17 and last week's cases: first-degree theft, first-degree attempted theft, two counts of ID theft and unlawful possession of fictitious ID. A pre-trial conference was set for April 3.

Madras Police again posted the pair’s photos Tuesday on Facebook and asked anyone with information on the other suspect to contact Detective Ryan Kathrein at 541-475-2424, in reference to Case No. M24-0090.
