BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – With a lot going on around town, from Friday’s Valentine’s Day to WinterFest and the Presidents Day holiday, Bend Police are adding patrols to make sure DUII drivers don’t spoil anyone’s good times.

Bend Police said in a Facebook post on Friday that they “will be running overtime patrols this weekend, with officers out and about looking for drivers under the influence of alcohol and drugs.”

“Don’t take any chances,” the department said. “If you’re under the influence, do not get behind the wheel.”

Sergeant Todd Guthrie said the agency has “a number of overtime opportunities,” often funded by grants from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
