PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Crook County School District announced Thursday that school board member Jessica Brumble has resigned, as she has been appointed the district's new transportation Manager and will start her new position on Monday, Dec. 30.

Brumble, who has served on the school board since July 2023, will now oversee the district’s transportation operations and services and work with staff and families to ensure the best possible experience for local students.

Superintendent Dr. Melissa Skinner said Brumble’s exceptional qualifications stood out throughout the hiring process. Her expertise in logistical planning, systems thinking and dedication to serving families made her a top candidate.

“Jessica’s leadership and dedication to our students and families have been invaluable during her time on the board,” said Superintendent Dr. Melissa Skinner. “We are thrilled to have her step into this operational role where her skills and vision will make a tremendous impact.”

In accordance with district policy, Brumble’s resignation from the school board was effective Tuesday, December 10th. The open board seat will be formally announced on Monday, January 13th, at the next regularly scheduled school board meeting. In the coming weeks, the district will outline the process for filling the vacant board seat.

Dr. Skinner expressed her gratitude for Brumble’s service on the school board and is confident she will bring the same passion and professionalism to her new position. She says the district is thrilled to have her step into this operational role where her skills and vision will have a tremendous impact.

“Transportation plays a vital role in ensuring the success of our students, and I am excited to work with our team to provide safe, efficient, and reliable services for families across the district,” explained Dr. Skinner.
