Oregon State Marine Board seeks to fill Guide Advisory Committee positions

SALEM, Ore. (KTVZ) --The Oregon State Marine Board is recruiting six representatives for theĀ Guide Advisory Committee. The positions will be individuals who are members of organizations that represent or include outfitters and guides, along with a public member representing charter boats.

The 12-member committee provides advice and recommendations to the Marine Board on various matters related to theĀ Outfitter and Guide Program. The ideal candidates should be able to provide intentional communication, collaboration, and engagement in problem-solving for the Outfitter and Guide and the Charter industry in Oregon. The committee members discuss, consider, and address issues relevant to the regulations and laws on the Outfitter and Guide and the Charter industry in Oregon while bringing forward issues of concern.

Those interested in serving must submit a Guide Advisory Committee membership interest form by Friday, March 1, 2024. The Guide Advisory CommitteeĀ Membership Interest FormĀ is available online along with the committeeĀ charter.

The 12-member committee has no fewer than two meetings a year, which may be in person, by telephone, or by any electronic means acceptable per Oregon public meeting laws.
