At least 22 people shot, 2 fatally, after assailants get out of SUV and fire assault rifles at Fla. club, police say

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding whoever opened fire at a Florida club Sunday, killing at least two people and wounding at least 20 more, Miami-Dade police director Alfredo Ramirez III said.

Shortly after midnight, a white Nissan Pathfinder pulled up to the El Mula Banquet Hall near Hialeah.

That’s when three people “stepped out of the vehicle with assault rifles and handguns and started firing indiscriminately into the crowd,” Ramirez said.

“The result is 20 to 25 victims with gunshot injury wounds, and two deceased on the scene.”

The wounded were taken to various hospitals in the area. At least one of those hospitalized is in critical condition, police said.

The banquet hall and billiards club had been rented out for a concert, Ramirez said.

Angelica Green said both her son and her nephew were among those shot.

Her son was shot once in the abdomen area and is in stable condition after surgery, Green said Sunday.

“However, my nephew was shot four times,” she said, including once in the abdomen area and three times in the leg.

Green said her son is her only child.

“He’s not a statistic. He’s a graduate from college last year. So he’s educated. He was going out with his educated cousin to just celebrate the weekend, and they had not made it into the club as of yet,” she said.

“They said that some guys, three guys that they noticed … they just started shooting … for whatever reason, we don’t know.”

The Miami-Dade Police Department is asking anyone with information about the shooters or their whereabouts to contact authorities.

“These are cold blooded murderers that shot indiscriminately into a crowd and we will seek justice,” Ramirez tweeted. “My deepest condolences to the family of the victims.”

TV personality and Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the mass shooting, the businessman tweeted Sunday.

The police director thanked Lemonis for his offer and reminded the public that tipsters can stay anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers.

“We need our county to step up with information,” Ramirez said.

“This type of gun violence has to stop. Every weekend, it’s the same thing. This is targeted. This is definitely not random,” said Ramirez.

On Friday, another shooting in the Miami area left at least one person dead and six others wounded.

That mass shooting took place in Miami’s Wynwood district late Friday night.

Police said they’re looking for a silver Nissan Maxima that may have been involved in that shooting.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday offered his condolences to the victims of those attacked in the latest shooting.

“We mourn the loss of the two victims and are praying for the recovery of the more than 20 people injured at El Mula Banquet Hall near Hialeah,” DeSantis tweeted Sunday.

“We are working with local authorities to bring justice to the perpetrators.”

  1. The lack of comments here shows how immune we’re getting to the loss of life caused by these repetitive mass shootings. Tired of reading about leaders “sending their heartfelt condolences to the victim’s families.” Maybe if they passed a gun control bill with extensive background checks and followup, it would show they really are saddened, not just saying what’s expected.

    1. I would be interested in your solution to criminals having guns, those people already beyond the rule of law and would not have a legally owned gun. Also, Eric Holder and Barrack Obama’s Fast and Furious sent hundreds and even thousands of guns into Mexico FOR the drug cartels, should they be held accountable for the damage done with those weapons?

      1. These are the types of criminals that no gun law is going to stop. These were surely heavy-duty street thugs, who will always be able to find weapons. Gun control laws will maybe stop some mentally ill or less sophisticated buyers, but not the real bad guys. On another note, how many dozens of those at the party know who the perps were? This was a targeted shooting, with a history behind it, involving many at the party.

      2. Bad guys will always be able to get whatever they need either by theft or unscrupulous dealers who only worry about their bottomlines. Extensive background checks, licensing, and interagency data sharing and followup will at least keep weapons out of the hands of those who, for some reason, are unable to handle the responsibility.

Regarding Obama’s moves, if you ever sold a gun, do you know where it ended up? What if it was used to kill someone? Are you responsible for murder? When you find the crystal ball to look into the future to see how all your decisions turn out, I hope you’ll share it with the rest of the world.

Why do you consider the current F.B.I background checks inadequate ? This is the same
lame comment that liberals and the anti-gun crowd spew because they are totally clueless.
Do you really think that the people involved in shootings are law abiding people ?
No they aren’t… You can pass all of the legislation you want that pertains to
firearms, and the whack jobs that randomly shoot people will still get their guns
so they can follow through with their plan.
It would be really nice if at least one anti-gun person would be honest and stop using the worthless “extensive background check” solution, and also admit that they don’t have any real solutions to reduce the number of shootings.

    3. FatherlessChild, The only people that your so called “gun control laws” would affect are law biding citizens. Criminals do not fit that description. They do not follow laws. I guarantee that I could buy a gun off the street faster than I could buy one in a gun store. No back ground checks and no waiting period. Making it harder for the law biding citizen to purchase a weapon only endangers the law biding citizen/ It does nothing to curb the criminal from acquiring a weapon. It’s time we stop referring to them as shooters and simply call them what they are KILLERS. A killer will kill whether it’s with a gun, a knife, or a bomb. They will find a way. More people are killed with blunt objects than with guns. Wake your woke butt up. By the way, the extensive backgroung checks are already on the books.

      1. If criminals don’t follow any laws, why have any laws? Isn’t that the ultimate point of that perspective? So it’s really about what laws are fair, enforceable, respect rights, etc. In other words, negotiation, compromise, looking for a path forward. One can only hope.

      1. That’s obvious as you seem it’s ok to call us TURD PEOPLE for being wary of your vaccines. Not like you and your White scientists haven’t used us to experiment on before! Racist filth!

          1. The real racists are those who identify as a race rather than a person with an identifying name. Skin tone does not define race. Humanity defines race. Nationality does not define race, humanity defines race. Identity politics only serves to define and divide us. Those who use identity politics truly do not believe in “unity” because identity politics can only divide, not unite. Only truth can unite.

    1. Apparently, you have never been there. It is an amazing vacation area. Kind of like Southern California used to be, but without the mass homeless camps on beaches, human feces on the sidewalks, over the top COVID restrictions, etc etc. You should go there before you call it a toilet.

      1. You should take a gander outside Palm Beach next time you visit. Florida is a nasty humid hole. Apparently, you have never visited Key West. Home to one of the largest homeless populations per capital in the entire country. You should do some research before opening your mouth.

  2. Oh my, democrats are in the house by fraud and they get a year of shooting and flags down. Coincidence? I don’t think so. Pushing gun control, climate change, distractions from the audits, brainwashing our kids in schools, Fauci lied, poison vaccine, Hunter is a racist, Kalama does not care about the border or the young kids getting picked up by sex traffickers. Liberals are evil demons.

  3. Democrat policies… Destroy the family unit… Destroy the value of human life… Impugn and ridicule religion. Support thug life culture… Then pretend to offer a solution for the problems of a decaying culture they created.
