Deputy Kiersten Schwindt makes history as first female in Deschutes County SAR unit

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Deputy Kiersten Schwindt will join the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Unit. She is the first female deputy to become a part of the unit's crew.

Schwindt became a member of the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office in 2018. She began her career as a cadet in Redmond.
