Rainy afternoon brings a change of pace to Central Oregon

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — A rainy afternoon changed plans around Central Oregon Wednesday, but for some people at Bend’s Old Mill District, the cooler weather was a welcome change after a hot and smoky stretch of summer.

Visitors were still out shopping and enjoying the area despite the rain.

One Old Mill visitor, Emily Holland, said the change in weather wasn’t getting in the way of her plans.

“We’re shopping for now, and then we’re going to see Harry Potter later,” Holland said.

After weeks of summer heat and wildfire smoke across the region, Wednesday’s cooler temperatures and rainfall offered a different feel around Bend.

For some, that simply meant trading outdoor plans for shopping, a movie or other indoor activities while enjoying the cooler weather.
