Handel’s Ice Cream Coming to Downtown Redmond

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A new sweet spot is coming to downtown Redmond this fall.

Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream is preparing to open a location near Southwest Fifth and Forest Avenue, according to a sign posted inside the building. The shop will be situated near General Duffy’s Waterhole, expanding the brand’s Central Oregon presence beyond Bend.

Handel’s first opened in 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio, and makes its ice cream fresh on-site every day at each location. The company says each shop operates as a registered dairy manufacturing facility, churning ice cream daily using fresh ingredients.

The Redmond store will be the sixth Handel’s location in Oregon, joining multiple stores in the Portland area and the existing shop on South Highway 97 in Bend.

KTVZ News will speak with the owner next week for more details on the new shop, including its expected opening date and what customers can expect from the menu and design.
