Rain showers continue as snow moves in over Cascades

KTVZ

Good evening Central Oregon!

Cloudy skies and rainy weather throughout the High Desert on this Wednesday.

Today we saw highs in the 40s for many of us.

This evening things are set to be a bit breezy as well with winds out of the south at 10-15 MPH.

Chances for rain will continue through the overnight here on the High Desert, with snow levels right around 5000 ft. this evening.

While we may not be seeing snow here in Central Oregon, the Cascades are set to see some heavy snow in the next few days.

There is winter storm warning in place for the Cascades as the mountains could likely see over a foot of snow before Friday.

Lows are set to drop down around the mid to upper 30s, which is well above average for this time of year.

Normal for overnight lows at Roberts Field in Redmond this time of the year is 21.

Heading into Thursday, we will continue with chances for rain throughout the morning and into the afternoon.

Highs will top out in the 40s for Thursday.

By Thursday night, we could see some changes, as snow levels will drop down to around 4200 feet, which means there is a chance we could see some snow showers at lower elevations of the High Desert.

A better chance for some snow showers comes on Friday overnight into Saturday, when snow levels will be dropping down to around 1000 feet by Saturday morning.

Things are set to dry out by the end of next weekend and stay cool, in the 40s.

Enjoy the rest of your day, Central Oregon!
