Snow and rain headed for the High Desert

KTVZ

Good evening Central Oregon!

Cloudy skies overhead on this Tuesday as we are set to see an active weather pattern move through the region.

This evening we are looking at cool temperatures dropping down into the low to mid 20s.

Winds will be out of the southeast at 5-15 MPH with gusts up around 20 MPH.

For your Wednesday is when we will start to see some changes.

Daytime highs will be in the upper 30s to low 40s once again and snow levels will be right around 1300 ft. to start the day.

We could see a few snow flurries during the day, but it looks like our best bet for some snow showers will come Wednesday evening.

Overnight Wednesday into Thursday is when we will start to see those snow levels rise and we will likely see the snow turn over to rain.

Snow levels will reach 6000 ft. by Thursday night and stay close to that through Friday, which is why we are looking at rain showers through Friday.

Through the mountains and at the pass levels from Wednesday to Thursday, we are looking at a winter storm warning, and the potential of around a foot of new snow in some areas.

Snow levels could drop down enough over the weekend to see a few more snow showers before things dry up heading into the start of next week.

Have a great rest of your day Central Oregon!
