Smoke Continues Tonight Before a Midweek Warmup

CENTRAL OREGON — Smoke remains the biggest weather concern across Central Oregon through the rest of today and tonight, while temperatures stay seasonable before a return to 90-degree heat later this week.

Skies will remain mostly clear through this evening, but patchy smoke will continue drifting across the region. North winds will gradually ease after sunset, with overnight lows falling into the upper 30s and 40s by Monday morning.

Monday will be sunny with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s across Bend, Redmond, Madras and Prineville. Patchy smoke is expected in the morning, becoming more widespread in some areas during the afternoon.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality’s Air Quality Advisory remains in effect until 2 p.m. Monday for Jefferson, Crook and Grant counties, along with several counties across north-central and northeast Oregon. Anyone sensitive to smoke should consider limiting prolonged outdoor activity if conditions become smoky.

A warming trend begins Tuesday, with highs climbing into the upper 80s and lower 90s. Dry weather continues through the rest of the workweek, with widespread 90s expected Wednesday through Friday.
