Smoky start; rain & clearing

-GOOD FRIDAY MORNING, EVERYONE...

After a morning of clear skies and hazardous, smoky conditions we will see the clouds thickening and deliver some rain showers. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60's and westerly and NW winds will pick up to 5-15 mph, gusting to 20-25 mph. Tonight's lows will range from the mid 30's to mid 40's. Showers will subside by midnight. Breezes will become light and variable this evening and remain there tonight.

We will see clearing skies Saturday, but the cool temperatures will remain; highs will be in the mid to upper 60's, once again. From Sunday into next week, we will see pleasant conditions return to the High Desert. Highs will be in the mid 70's under sunny to mostly sunny skies. The rain showers we see over the next 24 hours will be helpful to firefighters, but they will not be enough to put out the wildfires. We will see a chance of more smoky haze next week.
