Early fog with rain and snow possible and average temperatures
Happy Wednesday! Tricky commute conditions this morning. There’s a chance of rain and snow throughout the morning, in addition to patchy fog in some areas. Freezing rain and freezing fog will be possible in areas below freezing temperatures, especially before sunrise. Both can cause dangerous accumulations of ice on elevated surfaces including roadways.
Outside of the mixed precipitation which is possible throughout the day, today should be mostly cloudy with near average temperatures.
A special weather statement has been issued ‘through the morning’ for Central Oregon, north central Oregon, and areas along the southern Blue Mountains due to periods of mixed precipitation and fog. There are reports of snow and ice accumulations along roadways such as US 97 and Highway 74 and those driving should exercise caution while traveling.
For those wishing for snow, there is a decent chance some measurable amounts throughout the rest of this week and into the weekend. The chance for slightly more significant snowfall increases over the weekend.
Winds will be out of the west in the 5-15 mph range and active throughout the afternoon. Highs today will range from the the upper 30s to mid 40s and overnight lows will be in the 20s and 30s.
