Rain/freezing rain possible early turning likely to rain later with warmer temperatures ahead

Happy Wednesday, Central Oregon. Today will be the first above freezing day we’ve had for a while as a warm front makes its way into southwest Oregon. The mountains will likely see a wintry mix, but in the lower elevations of the high desert, we will likely experience rain although it is still possible to see some snow and freezing rain mixed in depending on temperatures. All of this will make for slushy roads and early this morning while temperatures are still below freezing, you may find accumulations of ice on your windshields, tree limbs and roadways during your morning commute so please be cautious. Additionally, fog and freezing fog is possible in the area throughout the morning.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in place from 4pm Tuesday to 4pm Wednesday due to expected mixed precipitation and snow accumulations of up to an inch and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch in combination with winds gusting as high as 35mph creating slippery roads.
A WWA is also in place along the east slopes of the Cascades including LaPine and Sunriver from 1pm today to 10pm Wednesday. Also due to mixed precipitation, expected snowfall of 5-10 inches and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch and winds gusting as high as 55mph. Travel could be very difficult to impossible and hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commutes.
A Wind advisory is also in place in Northeastern Klamath County and most of Lake County from 7am today until 10pm tonight due to winds of 25-35mph and gusts of up to 50mph possible resulting in possible damage to unsecured objects or broken tree limbs leading to power outages.
Local winds will be in the 15-25 mph range out of the Southwest and a bit more active than yesterday. Highs will be in the 30s and 40s and the overnight lows will be in the 20s primarily.
