SCHOOL CLOSURE & DELAY INFO and chance of rain with temperatures well above freezing
UPDATE: Jefferson County Schools are closed and Culver County School Districts are on a 2 hour delay.
A fine Monday to you, Central Oregon. Temperatures at or above freezing in most of the forecast area as of early this morning and expected to remain there. Today should bring mostly cloudy conditions with a chance of rain throughout the day. There is even a chance we will see enough clearing for partly sunny skies. Temperatures should be well above freezing again allowing what’s left of the snow, ice and slush to continue melting.
Portions of north central and northeast Oregon have a Winter Weather Advisory in place due to possible freezing rain until 10AM today and there’s a Hydrologic Outlook to the NE of our forecast area due to concerns for possible localized flooding with several rounds of rainfall expected through the beginning of the week and warming temperatures.
Snow levels will remain above about 5000 ft for most of the short term forecast period. They will come down a bit on Tuesday behind this current weather disturbance to 4000-5000 ft. However, that is still high enough to keep snow confined to the higher mountains.
Southwest winds will be in the 10-15 mph range through the morning and calming to the 5-10mph range by this afternoon, locally. In the Cascades, slightly breezy to windy conditions are expected. Highs will be in the 40s and overnight lows in the 20s and 30s.
