Snow possible early, below average temperatures & quiet conditions ahead

Happy Friday Central Oregon! Freezing temperatures will be a factor in some areas before sunrise and into the morning making icy conditions likely on roadways during your commute. Fog and freezing fog are also possible, though nothing widespread has been reported yet.

A dusting of snow will be possible through the early morning hours across portions of Central and north Central OR with snow continuing mainly in the mountains in the afternoon.  Later today appears to bring mostly cloudy skies with below average temperatures.

As the area of low pressure we’ve been tracking exits the region, a dry northerly flow will take over the PacNW.  This, combined with some upper level ridging that will build in from the NE Pacific, will bring quiet conditions for the next several days.

Winds will be out of the southwest in the 5-10 mph range, becoming north in the afternoon eventually becoming light and calm.  Highs today will be similar to yesterday but a degree or two cooler in the 30s and 40s and the overnight lows will be in the 20s.
