Chance for snow and rain showers today

There is a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 11am today. This will affect the East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades including the cities of La Pine, Sunriver and Sisters. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches and gusty winds expected. Lower snow totals of less than one inch are forecast along US-97 south of Bend.

Little precipitation may develop in the lower elevations later this morning through mid afternoon hours. Central Oregon will see very little of this snow, but up to 2 inches is possible in the Sunriver/La Pine area.

We're starting off the week with below normal temperatures. Afternoon highs will only reach the 40s and 50s across Central Oregon. We can expect partly sunny conditions.

Breezy westerly winds will continue Tuesday, with only 15-25mph sustained winds and gusts up to 35-40mph expected.

There is a slight chance for some showers across the region. Temperatures will remain on the cooler side once again.
