Drying out with chilly overnights ahead for Central Oregon

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Howdy all, and happy Thursday to you. It's been a dreary day across Central Oregon, but our rain chances are finally starting to wind down this evening. Most communities have picked up a few hundredths of an inch of rain, and a little more is possible before the showers move out. Tonight, we're expected to be drier once again, and stay that way heading into the weekend.

For tonight, I'm tracking some chilly temperatures for Friday morning, with lows dropping below freezing for most of Central Oregon. Highs tomorrow will only reach the low 50s, and we'll see another cold start Saturday morning, with temperatures dipping into the mid-20s for most. Therefore, we have a few more mornings that we'll have to watch out for our sensitive plants and keep an eye on any exposed outdoor plumbing.

There is some good news ahead. We are expected to warm up nicely for Saturday and Sunday afternoon, with highs climbing into the low to mid-60s (right around average for this time of year). Looking ahead into next week, temperatures will settle back into the 50s, with a very low chance of rain Tuesday and Wednesday. Overall, it should be mostly quiet, cool, and mild for the next several days.

Stay warm, folks! Keep those layers on standby for the chilly mornings, and we'll continue tracking the latest forecast right here on KTVZ.com!
