Cool start to the work week

Happy Monday everyone!

Temperatures remain below normal, with highs reaching only the 50s to 60s across the region. Winds will be breezy with gusts reaching over 20 mph.

We've been keeping an eye on the Trout Creek wildfire, which broke out Saturday afternoon 20 miles north of Madras. The fire quickly expanded to 700 acres but is now 60% contained as of this morning. Check out Central OR Fire Info for the latest updates.

Snow and rain showers are expected in the mountains, which could impact travel through the passes. There could be a stray shower or two in the lower elevations.

It's going to be a chilly Monday night, with temperatures dropping mostly into the 30s and some areas dipping below freezing.

Tomorrow temperatures will warm up into the 70s. Expect mostly sunny conditions with a warming trend continuing throughout the week.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
