Increasing clouds today, chance of showers Thursday

Good morning!

Clouds will increase today, with highs mainly in the 70s across the region. Lows will drop down into the 40s tonight.

Tomorrow, a low-pressure system will deepen over the region, with a cold front arriving at night, bringing a chance of rain showers for a couple of days.

There’s a slight chance of thunderstorms with these showers, mostly along the Cascades, though Central Oregon might experience an isolated storm or two. Highs will only climb into the 60s, which is well below normal for this time of year.

Expect some breezy/gusty winds as the low pressure moves in. Chances for showers will start to taper off by the weekend.

Good news is that these cooler temperatures along with a wet weather pattern will help maintain good air quality for some time! Oregon faced air quality advisories for 42 consecutive days starting July 9th. However, after the Air Quality Alert ended on Monday, that was the first time in a while where there were no air advisories out for the entire state.

Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday.
