Cold mornings and mild afternoons this week

Today temperatures will be about normal, in the upper 60s and low 70s under sunny skies. There will be a breeze this afternoon with gusts 15-20mph. Lows tonight will be cold, in the 30s, with areas like La Pine and Sisters and Redmond getting near or below freezing.

Tomorrow, temperatures spike into the low to mid 80s as a ridge of high pressure builds to our south. We’ll see just the top of it, but it will be enough to put us well above normal for the day. They’ll return to the low to mid 70s on Wednesday.

Overall, we have dry air over our region which will keep our skies clear and our overnight lows chilly. Expect to wake up to some cold temperatures over the next couple days.

A freeze warning was released for parts of our region last night and will expire later this morning. If you are in areas like Redmond, Bend, Prineville, Madras, you might see some frost this morning. We’re going to see some more frosty nights ahead, so protect any remaining perishables this week.

We are in layering season, dress accordingly.

Have a great Monday! This week will be nice and comfortable.
