Rain returns to the east today with cool temps continuing
Highs will top out in the low 50s and upper 40s today, making it the coolest day of the week. Lows tonight in the 20s and below.
A chance for some rain returns today. A low pressure is swinging by our region this afternoon and will trigger some showers. We will be right on the edge of where showers want to form. Generally, if you’re in Jefferson County, you should remain dry. Most areas west of Highway 97 should remain dry as well. Crook County and SE Deschutes has the best chance for being along that line of developing showers. I expect showers to start in the mid to late morning but clear through the early afternoon.
As the system moves east during the day, rain will become heavier. Anything we do see will be short lived and on the lighter side. Grab a jacket with a hood but you might not have to use it.
Tomorrow will be dry and we’ll begin our warming trend into the weekend. A ridge will start to build and we’ll see temperatures rise into the mid and upper 60s by Friday and Saturday.
Looking ahead, we have more rain arriving by the second half of our weekend and into early next week. More snowfall along the Cascades is in the forecast for Monday.
Keep an eye out for the pumpkin in my forecast for the remainder of the month. Have a great Wednesday!
