Temperatures dropping today with the chilly pattern continuing into next week

Temperatures today drop significantly, into the 30s. Cold, arctic air is being blasted into the central United States. We are on the edge of that, but still getting cold air funneled into our region. Our general air flow is from the northwest, which helps to bring in that cold air.

This pattern will stick around for a few days. We’ll see temperatures in the 30s through early next week. More normal temperatures are expected by Tuesday or Wednesday. Overnight lows will be in the teens and single digits through the weekend.

Clouds will roll in and out for the next few days. We’ll be mostly sunny to partly cloudy.

The dry pattern will persist for at least the next seven days. If we look ahead to the long term 7-10 day forecast, the dry pattern ends and we could get some snow. That is quite a ways out and will likely change as we approach that time frame, but we’ll get some precipitation by the end of the month.

Happy Friday, have a great day and an even better weekend.
