Dry and mild until a wet pattern begins Friday
As a ridge of high pressure continues to build overhead, we’ll see temperatures gradually rise. Today, highs will reach the low to mid 40s, still hovering right around normal for this time of year. We have a very dry airmass overhead so you can expect blue skies through the day and clear skies overnight. Lows tonight will drop into the teens and low 20s.
Highs will hit the 50s in a number of areas on Wednesday and Thursday before the ridge begins to break down and flatten out. In other words, it will feel like “June-uary.”
With the approach of an upper level low and a surface frontal system early in the day Friday, “June-uary” will come to an end as snow and rain is expected to return. We will enter a wet pattern that will drop rain and snow off and on through the weekend and into next week. It should be a busy weekend at Mt. Bachelor, since no snow has fallen the last few weeks and fresh powder has been missed.
It's a little far out to hone in on snow totals for this time frame, but around 6” could accumulate in Sunriver and La Pine over the weekend and between 1-2’ for the Cascades is what it’s looking like at this moment. These numbers aren't set in stone–I’ll continue to track and update these totals as we approach the weekend.
Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day today!
