Drying out today, passing shower Thursday, more rain Saturday

Today was a mild and dry day with the temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Finally got to see some sunshine, but the cooler northwest flow allowed the mercury to stay below normal today in the thermometer.

The area warms slightly on Thursday but I do see a stray shower arriving in the evening. This will be a light shower and should be for about an hour or two and best. The amount of rain will be light and should end before midnight. The sky conditions start out on the mostly sunny side but will fill in as the day moves along. I expect to see partly sunny skies into early afternoon.

Friday is a set-up day for Saturday as the clouds will be back and moisture returns to the region. I am not expecting any rain on Friday, maybe after sunset, but we are going to see scattered showers most of the day Saturday.

The rain chances on Saturday enough to push everyone to keep the rain gear handy. I don’t expect to hear any thunder Saturday, but there may be a rogue storm off to the east. The rain is expected to be more showery than rainy, but a few pockets of moderate rain may speckle the area.

The chance for snow is also possible, but no accumulations on the mountain passes as the region has gone well above freezing for too long. Slushy or wet snow will be the hazard that needs to be navigated Saturday above 6000 feet.

Sunday will be a dry and mild day with highs in the low 60s under partly cloudy skies. Winds will be categorized as breezy, with sustained winds near 10 – 15 mph.

A mix of clouds and sunshine Monday with highs near normal in the upper 60s.  Tuesday may see a passing shower, but very low chance of that is being advertised by the models at this time.  We will fine tune that portion of the forecast when we get closer to the date.
