Slightly cooler Friday before temperatures warm back up tomorrow

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Friday brings a slight cooldown to the region, with highs rising into the low to mid 70s. Even with the cooler temperatures, we’re still running above average for early May, when normal highs are usually in the mid 60s.

The overall weather pattern isn’t changing much as this weak system moves through. We’re not expecting any rain today or really for the next several days. The biggest changes will be a few more clouds overhead and breezier afternoon winds.

You may notice a few more clouds this morning, but skies will become sunnier through the afternoon.

Temperatures warm back up this weekend, with highs returning to the low to mid 80s by Saturday.

Mother’s Day is shaping up nicely for outdoor plans, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. It may turn a bit breezy at times during the afternoon and evening.

Mostly sunny skies continue to dominate the forecast.

Afternoon humidity levels will remain very low, with parts of Central Oregon dropping into the single digits by Saturday. The combination of warm temperatures, very dry air and gusty winds could elevate fire weather concerns. Smoke and haze will remain localized depending on wind direction.

It looks like the warm and dry pattern will continue into next week, with temperatures trending even hotter. Some areas could see highs approaching 90 degrees by early to mid next week. We're not tracking any major rain chances for the next several days.
