Heat continues before a late-week cooldown

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - The hot pattern continues today with most spots reaching into the upper 80s and low 90s. We could see more high-level clouds today, filtering the sunshine.

Wednesday will be cooler, but still above normal in the mid 80s.

Changes are ahead as a weak system is moves through Wednesday.

Tomorrow will begin with mostly sunny skies but clouds will increase through the day. We could see some isolated showers and thunderstorms by the mid-afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has placed Central Oregon in a “general risk” for non-severe thunderstorms.

Thursday looks mostly dry, but a few showers may return late Thursday night into Friday. There will be a noticeable drop in temperatures as we return to the upper 60s and low 70s. Expect mostly cloudy skies with a few more showers.

The cooler than normal pattern lingers through the first weekend of summer with highs in the middle 60s. Spotty showers linger across the mountains on Saturday and Sunday. A few light sprinkles may develop this weekend but most of the rain will get gobbled up by the Cascades.

Mostly sunny skies return on Monday with highs in the mid 70s.
