Warm, Dry Week Ahead with Continued Fire Concerns

Central Oregon is settling into a warm, dry stretch of weather this week. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s through the first half of the week before climbing into the lower to mid 90s by Friday. Nights will stay comfortable, cooling into the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Fire danger remains the biggest concern. A Red Flag Warning is in effect until 8 p.m. Saturday for parts of Central Oregon due to dry air, gusty winds, and conditions that could allow any new fire to spread quickly. With several active fires across the region, patchy smoke is also possible at times, especially during the overnight and morning hours as winds become lighter. If you’re spending time outdoors, check the latest air quality before heading out, avoid anything that could create a spark, and help do your part to prevent new fires.
