Fire weather concerns continue Saturday as Central Oregon stays warm and dry

CENTRAL OREGON — Breezy winds and very dry conditions will keep wildfire concerns elevated across parts of the region Saturday evening.

A Red Flag Warning remains in effect until 11 p.m. for portions of north-central Oregon, including the Warm Springs Reservation. Most of the tri-county area is not included in the warning, but dry conditions and breezy winds mean wildfire starts remain a concern across Central Oregon.

The National Weather Service says winds and low relative humidity are creating critical fire-weather conditions in the warned areas Saturday. Fire-weather concerns are expected to decrease somewhat Sunday as humidity increases, although breezy and dry conditions will continue.

Sunday will remain sunny and warm across Central Oregon, with many locations reaching the upper 80s to around 90 degrees.

Warm and dry weather is expected to continue through the beginning of the week, with temperatures gradually trending cooler. Forecasters are also watching for a possible pattern change around midweek that could bring increasing moisture to parts of the region.
