Cold conditions allow ice and snow to remain, more on the way Saturday
Moving forward into the weekend the region will continue to see below normal temperatures and snow. The overall pattern has yet another wave of snow arriving on Saturday as the mercury stays in the 30s. The possibility of freezing rain Saturday is low, but not zero so there may be more icy roads ahead. The best time frame for the icy glaze will be overnight into Sunday morning. The snow Saturday will be off and on and about another inch or two making for some travel issues.
Once the sun comes up on Sunday the region will be able to achieve some milder temperature readings. Highs Sunday will be in the middle to upper 40s, allowing for some snow melt and slushy roads.
Overnight into Monday we still have a slight chance for some wintry precipitation to arrive for the morning commute, but not much in the way of accumulating snow. Temps will be near or just above freezing during that time frame allowing for mainly snow, but some cold rain may mingle into the discussion.
Expect a stray shower to cross the Beaver State on Tuesday but the bulk of the precipitation will be south of our Tri-Counties of coverage (Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook).
There may be some mountain snow each of the next several days, but generally only about an inch a day is likely.
