Dry and warmer conditions, rain possible Friday

The pattern will be defined by a gradual warm up each of the next couple of days.  High pressure in the region is keeping most of the clouds away and allowing the sun to warm Oregon. High temperature reports will indicate highs in the upper 60s on Wednesday and near 70 on Thursday.  This is about 10 – 12 degrees warmer than the normal high of 56 for Bend and Redmond.

There is a good chance for increasing cloud cover Friday as the ridge breaks down and moves east. The clouds will be accompanied by a few showers, so get the umbrellas ready.  This will not be a widespread rain event; more spotty and scattered type showers are on the docket.

Saturday may see a stray shower, but a very low chance, so I have kept it out of my forecast for now. Winds will begin to pick up late in the day and Sunday is likely going to be a brisk day.  Highs Sunday will be in the mid-60s under partly cloudy skies.

Monday and Tuesday will see the return of some mountain snow, but very little. Still, the mountain passes are likely to be slick, so allow for some extra time traveling through the Cascades early next week.
