Mostly dry and mild, rain returns tonight

Happy Friday Central Oregon!

A transitory ridge of high pressure will pass over our region bringing us a mild Spring day to end the work week. Temperatures will be above normal today mainly reaching the 50s and 60s.

Clouds will begin to increase and spread later today and through the night as the next weather system arrives. Our break from the precipitation won’t last for long.

More rain showers are possible later tonight across the High Desert. Temperatures will drop into the 30s overnight so we could see some snow mingled in with the rain.

A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect tomorrow at 5am for the East Slopes of the OR Cascades.

Snow is expected above 4000 feet mainly along the crest and passes (around 4 to 10 inches). Lower elevations could also see a few inches of snow.

Winds will be gusting in the 20 to 30 mph range Saturday and Sunday. They'll be a little more robust through the mountain passes.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
