Sunny and warming up this week, summer weather this weekend

The wintry weather looks to be in the rear view mirror as the region is warming up and drying out.  Since May 25th there has only been one day with highs temperatures above normal, that will be changing.  Today the normal high for Bend is 64°, we will more than likely not make that, so our below normal string will be defined by 13 out of 14 days with temperatures below normal.

Thursday starts a new string of warm weather, as we are likely to be above normal for the next several days.  Jumping into the 70s Thursday afternoon before making the leap to the 80s on Friday. This will be a warm weekend for May as the mercury in the thermometer will reach the 80s for highs both Saturday and Sunday.

A large ridge of high pressure will arrive from the eastern Pacific and set up camp over the western United States for a week or so.

Moving into next week we will be dealing with temps in the 70s and plenty of sunshine.  Not much variation in the pattern for a while, just above normal temperatures, and plenty of sunshine. Overnights should be in the 40s.
