Rainy and breezy afternoon, cool temperatures remain
Today’s highs will be similar to yesterday. Most areas in the mid to upper 60s with a couple areas like Redmond and Warm Springs reaching into the 70s. Lows tonight will be in the 30s and 40s.
Today we have a fun pattern, with two low pressure systems playing tag in the sky. As one low pressure scoots northeast out of our area, another one swoops in right behind it. We’re seeing lingering showers, generally to our east this morning, trailing behind the first low pressure system. The second low will skim Oregon today as it dips into northern California. As it moves by, it’ll drop a little rain on us, but we won’t be seeing the better part of it.
Rain today will start around 4pm, coming from our west. Showers will generally be focused along US 97 and west. Central Oregon will see about a tenth of an inch. This isn’t a wash out, by any means, but the cooler and wetter conditions will be beneficial for our fire fighters nonetheless. We’ll take what we can get here!
As these systems dance around each other, the air will be thrown around, meaning we’ll be breezy. Gusts this afternoon will be 25-30mph, which will feel more like “windy.”
Clouds will start to clear up tomorrow, with drier and more seasonable temperatures starting Thursday.
Have a great Tuesday!
