Warm start to the week but cooler temps on their way

Today, afternoon highs will top out in the low 80s under mostly sunny skies. There will be a breeze this afternoon with gusts around 15-20mph. Lows tonight will be in the 30s and 40s.

We’ve been dealing with smoke the last few days and, unfortunately, today will be no different. Southwest wind for the first half of the day will keep smoke from the Bachelor and Willamette Complex fires over our region. Variable winds in the second half of the day mean little ventilation. Light to moderate smoke will cover the Tri-County area and air quality will be poor in some areas. Be safe.

A southwest flow today and tomorrow will keep our temperatures above normal. A low pressure is building off the coast and is forecasted to dip in by mid-week. When it does, temperatures will feel more like fall, dropping into the mid to upper 60s and low 70s for the second half of the week. Clouds will roll in and we’ll be sitting under cloudy skies for a couple days.

Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the hidden pumpkin in my forecast this month! Have a great start to your work week!
