More rain Wednesday, mainly east, rain returns this weekend

There is a decent amount of cloud cover filtering the sunshine today helping keep the temperatures in the low 50s.  Overnight the cloud cover will persist which traps some of the daytime heat keeping overnight low temps from dropping too quickly.  Lows tonight will be in the middle 30s around Bend and Redmond, the 20s in Sisters, La Pine, and Sunriver.

Wednesday will begin with mostly cloudy skies as a sliver of rain develops over the eastern portions of Deschutes and Crook counties. The rain will be light and only a couple of hours so not a major event at all. The mountains may see a few light rain showers and snow mingled in, but generally this will be a high desert event.  There is a hint that the 97 corridor may see some rain, but if so, it will be light and short lived.

Thursday into Saturday a weak ridge builds in the area that will keep the skies mostly clear. Temperatures stay in the 50s Thursday but warm a bit into the sixties Friday and Saturday.

Saturday may see some rain arrive late in the day. That will be the beginning of a wet period lasting until the beginning of the new work week. Temps cool on Sunday with the light rain and we should only hit the low to middle 50s.  The precipitation on Monday will be a mix of rain and snow, providing us with another round of slick roads and mountain snow.  The mountain snow may be a bit more robust this round as the available moisture is much greater and the ground is fairly prepped for the snow so accumulations may be more impressive. I will fine tune this as we get closer to the event.
