Plenty of sunshine today, mild pattern, cold over the weekend
A dry pattern has settled into Central Oregon and the mercury in the thermometer is well above the normal 42° high for this time of year. The possibility of some patchy fog is still on the table overnight, but a quiet weather regiment is in play for the next several days.
The major change in the daily weather pattern will be the temperatures. The high pressure ridge responsible for the dry and mild days and clear and cold nights will be breaking down. The advent of the change will be late Thursday and we should see significantly colder air arriving on Friday.
A blast of arctic air will arrive before sunrise Friday and that translates into a chilly day Friday. Highs on Friday will be in the middle to upper 30s under mostly sunny skies. The blast of arctic air will impact the middle of the nation much more than in the west, but we are still looking at below normal highs and cold overnight lows. Lows over the weekend will be in the teens.
Saturday and Sunday will be dry and crisp as the 30° high temperatures linger. A few clouds arrive on Saturday, but will not impact the weather much. Monday looks to continue the chilly trend as well. Tuesday will be dry and chilly, but highs get back into the 40s.
Please stay safe.
