Warm start to the weekend, showers possible Sunday
(KTVZ, Bend Ore.) Closing out Summer 2025 with temperatures in the 80s today and Saturday. There are some high clouds arriving from Northern California as the remnants of Tropical Storm Mario dissipate across the Golden State.
Expect to see some cloud cover and warmer than normal conditions into the weekend. Highs will be in the 80s Saturday ahead of some rain and cloudy skies on Sunday.
Saturday will be partly cloudy with the mercury in the thermometer reaching the middle 80s. What remains of T.S. Mario will be spread out and raining out by the time the moisture arrives in Oregon. Light winds and warm weather will define the day. Late in the day the clouds will lower and thicken, but not from the south, this time it will be from the northwest.
Early Sunday morning a line of showers and a few storms will move across the west coast. This line of rain will progress to the east and reach the Cascades by sunrise. This batch of showers will rain out over the mountains with only scattered showers making it to the high desert.
The rain will be light and spotty, but there may be a few rumbles of thunder, so keep an eye to the sky if you are hiking or biking or on any waterways. Due to the cloudy skies and the rain the high temperature Sunday will only top out in the low 70s. This is the last full day of summer, as Monday begins our Fall season.
Monday will be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s. At 11:19 the direct rays of the sun will be over the equator, marking the beginning of the Fall season. Equal parts day and night occur around this time as the hours of darkness will be greater than the hours of daylight.

Tuesday will be the first full day of Fall, and it will feel like summer. Highs reach the middle 80s under mostly sunny skies. This summer feel extends to Wednesday with highs still topping out in the middle 80s. Cloudy and slightly cooler weather is expected Thursday but highs will still be above the normal 73° mark as we make it to the upper 70s.
