Increasing clouds today, storms possible tomorrow

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Today will be another warm day across Central Oregon with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s.

High pressure will begin to weaken, allowing a low pressure system to develop to our south. As a result, we'll see an increase in clouds today, along with a slight chance for a stray shower. However, the air remains very dry, so any rain that develops may evaporate before reaching the ground.

A few showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible tomorrow afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of Deschutes and Crook counties in the General Thunderstorm Risk area for Friday.

Highs will reach the upper 80s to low 90s tomorrow.

The weekend will bring a slight cooldown, but temperatures will remain above average with highs in the low to mid 80s. Expect mostly sunny skies for your Saturday and Sunday plans.

Sunday also marks the official start of summer with the Summer Solstice. It's the longest day of the year, bringing about 15.5 hours of daylight to Bend.

Hot temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s return early next week.
