EUGENE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Three people were arrested during a Turning Point USA event at the University of Oregon Wednesday.

The conservative advocacy group, founded by Charlie Kirk, continues to host its "Prove Me Wrong" events following his death.

The event featured Alex Stein, a political commentator, who debated students.

More than 300 people attended, with some praising the opportunity for political discussion and others saying it fueled division.

"Turning Point USA is very big on encouraging voters, no matter who you're going to vote for," Libby Athwatie, a Western Oregon University student, told KVAL. "And so it's very important to have this to encourage people to vote."

"I don't think this has been helpful at all," Rachel Peterson, a University of Oregon student, told KVAL. "It's just been stoking more hatred, more aggression, and I think it's a very complicated and very nuanced issue."

University police arrested two people for disorderly conduct and one for harassment.

The University of Oregon says people connected to the school could also face disciplinary action if they violated its code of conduct or ethics policies.
