Pet Pals: Meet Peter and CJ, two friendly rats looking for a home

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- This week's Pet Pals features two smaller-than-usual guests: Peter and CJ, a pair of friendly rats looking for their forever home.

The two male rats arrived at the Humane Society of Central Oregon about a week ago after their previous owners could no longer keep them.

According to Lynne with the Humane Society of Central Oregon, who joined KTVZ for this week's Pet Pals segment, Peter and CJ are both sweet, social animals who enjoy spending time with people.

Rats are sometimes misunderstood, but they can make wonderful companion pets. They often bond closely with their owners and enjoy being handled, cuddled and spending time with their people.

Volunteers have already enjoyed snuggling with the pair, and Peter is especially known for enjoying a spot in someone's long hair!

Rats generally do well in clean habitats that give them plenty of room to run, hide and stay active.

The Humane Society of Central Oregon is encouraging anyone interested in adopting to stop by and meet Peter and CJ.
