BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity is partnering with the Central Oregon Peacekeepers and the Central Oregon Diversity Project to collect drinking water for The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct 14-15.

Collection bins will be located at the entrance to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Bend at 224 NE Thurston Ave. Water collection hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Oct 14 and 15. The ReStore will be open 1 p.m.-6 p.m. each day.

The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs issued another boil-water notice for residents on Monday on a precautionary basis due to a possible "turbidity event," but it was lifted later in the day. Still, Habitat officials said the brief order depleted the tribes' reserves of stored water.

Michael Satcher said, "The Central Oregon Diversity Project and Central Oregon Peacekeepers are organizing a Water Drive to return water to the Office of Emergency Management in Warm Springs. Please help our neighbors by donating as much water as you can."
