Redmond plans street chip-sealing projects
The City of Redmond Transportation Division will be applying chip seal, a surface treatment to extend the lifespan of asphalt, to streets in the month of June.
The project is scheduled to begin on Thursday, June 4 and conclude by June 11, weather permitting.
Signs will be posted along the affected streets for “No Parking” a few days prior to the chip seal process to notify residents and drivers. Crews will be accessing the streets to sweep the road surface and prepare the utilities and drains.
The city asks that residents do not run irrigation systems adjacent to the streets the day before and the day of the scheduled chip seal. The streets will remain open during chip seal operations with traffic controlled by flaggers.
One exception is at Veterans Way and South Canal Boulevard, which will require a full closure on Monday, June 8 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Crews will conduct final sweeping soon after the chip seal is applied and before removing the “No Parking” signs.
