‘Backpack Buddies’ food drive benefits NeighborImpact

KTVZ

NeighborImpact is participating in the 2015 Backpack Buddies Food Drive from now until June 12.

As a community partner in Central Oregon, the CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation will donate $1 (up to $1,000,000 nationwide) for every 6 pounds of food donated to NeighborImpact.

Additionally, every $1 in cash donated to our food program will be matched by CenturyLink, meaning a $10 donation will be worth $20! The more donations received by NeighborImpact, the higher the match.

In 2014, over 660,000 pounds of food were collected nationwide with over 300,000 pounds donated right here in Oregon.

CenturyLink, a global communications, hosting, cloud and IT services company which serves Central Oregon, offers the annual nationwide food drive as a way to help support the communities it serves and raise awareness of the issue of childhood hunger. The company supports the drive through a $1 million match allocated across its markets. Local coordinators have selected the NeighborImpact as the local beneficiary in the national campaign.

There are a variety of ways that people can participate in this drive. Individual food and cash donations can be delivered directly to NeighborImpact, people can organize food and fund drives at their school or workplace. Contributions for the CenturyLink Backpack Buddies Food Drive benefitting NeighborImpact must be received by June 12 th to count towards the match.
