Becky Stock has joined BrightSide Animal Center, a high-save shelter in Redmond, as its new executive director, board president Mark Crose announced Thursday. Stock’s appointment was the culmination of a three-month nationwide search.

“We were fortunate to attract a diverse field of highly skilled candidates from all over the country, but found the right person to lead our organization right here in our own backyard,” Crose said. “We’re looking forward to taking BrightSide to the next level.”

Stock has 24 years experience in the nonprofit world, including 14 years as the project director of the Nevada Land Trust. She began her nonprofit career in Bend as community relations director of the Humane Society of Central Oregon. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Oregon.

Stock moved to Nevada in 1996, but returned to Bend in 2013 as conservation project manager of the Deschutes Land Trust. She lives in Bend with her husband, Kirk Stock.

BrightSide Animal Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal shelter dedicated to placing homeless companion animals in good homes, and promoting responsible pet ownership.
