Bend PD: Woman caught going out window during drug raid

KTVZ

Complaints of apparent drug sales from a northeast Bend apartment led to a raid Friday morning in which a woman was arrested trying to escape out a window, police said.

Officers served a search warrant shortly after 7 a.m. at a unit at the Native Sun Apartments at 2755 NE Boyd Acres Road, said Sgt. Mike Landolt.

Landolt said there had been several complaints of drug activity at that location over the past several months. People were reported to be constantly coming and going from the apartment, and there also were reports of illegal drugs being used regularly there.

The only person home at the time the search warrant was served was Katherine Walsh, 36, of Bend, who tried to flee out a window of the ground-floor apartment and was taken into custody, Landolt said.

Officers searched the apartment and found user amounts of methamphetamine, along with evidence drugs were being used at the location.

Walsh was taken to the Deschutes County Jail and lodged on charges of meth possession and frequenting a place where drugs are used. She was held without bail on a probation violation charge.
