Russia-Ukraine War: What to know on Day 8 of Russian assault

Russian forces are pressing their war on Ukraine, shelling a nuclear power station even as the two sides negotiated safe corridors to safely evacuate citizens. A spokesman said the plant in the city of Enerhodar was on fire. A Ukrainian official says the nuclear reactors have not been damaged and radiation levels are normal. In a video address to the nation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Ukrainians to keep up their resistance as the war raged on for an eighth day. The Russians have seized the strategic seaport of Kherson and are besieging another even as the two sides held talks in Belarus.
