High Desert Spring: Mild Days Ahead Before a Mid-Week Shift

KTVZ-TV

If you’ve been enjoying the recent stretch of pleasant weather, I have some great news: those spring-like temperatures are sticking around for a few more days before we see a slight cool-down and a return of some light moisture later this week.

Tonight & Sunday: Staying Mild

We are looking at a mostly cloudy night across the region. The extra cloud cover will act like a blanket, keeping our overnight lows relatively mild—mostly in the mid-30s to lower 40s.

Sunday will bring more clouds than sun, but don't let that fool you—it's still going to be warm!

  • The Valleys (Madras, Redmond, Prineville): Expect highs in the low-to-mid 70s.
  • The Cascades & Foothills (Sisters, La Pine, Sunriver): Highs will range from the low 60s to lower 70s.
  • Wind: Generally light, though we may see a gentle northeast breeze pick up Sunday afternoon.

Monday: The Peak of the Heat

Monday is looking like the "goldilocks" day of the week. While the mountains will see plenty of sun, the rest of the region will stay partly cloudy with highs holding steady in the low-to-mid 70s. It’s the perfect day to get those outdoor chores done before the wind picks up Monday night, with gusts potentially reaching 20 mph.

The Mid-Week Outlook: Cooler with a Hint of Rain

Enjoy the 70s while they last, because a cooling trend begins Tuesday.

  • Tuesday – Thursday: We’ll transition back to the 50s and 60s.
  • Precipitation: Residents in Camp Sherman, Sisters, and La Pine should keep an eye on the sky starting Tuesday night. There is a 20% chance of rain through Thursday as a weak system moves through the Cascades.

Looking Toward Next Weekend

The long-range forecast suggests a mostly clear Friday, but by Saturday, we may see the return of some high-mountain snow and valley rain showers.
