(Update: Adding grant from Higher Education Coordinating Commission)

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Bend-based Diversability Inc. was awarded $50,000 from the Central Oregon Health Council to expand services and programming for individuals with diversabilities and their families.

The Community Advisory Council approved funding for our Resource Tools for All projects, including expanding capacity for our Integrated Employment program as well as our recently launched Diversability Village resource website. Many thanks to the COHC CAC for allowing us the opportunity to expand services in our community!

Diversability Inc. was officially formed in 2016 and began serving the Central Oregon community in 2017 after establishing state contracts. Our mission is to empower community connections for individuals with diversabilities and their families.

Integrated Employment, our initial program supporting employment for individuals with diversabilities, continues to be our most prominent program.

Also, funding of $50,000 from Oregon's Higher Education Coordinating Commission allows Diversability Inc. to increase wages for our Employment Professionals who provide the direct service that is critical to the success of the individuals we support.

HECC funding also allows Diversability Inc. to partner with Central Oregon healthcare, technology and manufacturing businesses, promoting individuals with diversabilities as a capable, vast and highly under-utilized workforce.

In addition, Diversability Inc. will create a dynamic presentation promoting employment of individuals with diversabilities for community partners to share with businesses. These focused projects intend to increase Oregon’s workforce, and we are grateful for the investment from Future Ready Oregon through the Higher Education Coordinating Commission.

Diversability Inc. is a registered nonprofit organization providing direct support services to individuals with diversabilities, and creating meaningful resource tools for individuals with diversabilities, their families, and the community. Our programs reflect our mission to ‘empower community connections’ elevating our community towards an inclusive mindset.
