Crook County Sheriff’s Office town halls set

The Crook County Sheriff’s Office will be holding a series of town Hall meetings in August at various locations around the county.

The topics of these meetings will be in regards to the sheriff’s office budget and Crook County Jail operations.

Sheriff Jim Hensley said, “We will be discussing the budget and educating the community on how their tax dollars are being spent.”

“Almost daily, we are asked about issues pertaining to the jail,” he said. “To help the citizens of Crook County understand what is happening with jail overcrowding, we will be giving an overview of the daily operations of the jail.”

The sheriff, undersheriff and jail Commander will be present to cover the information and to answer any questions.

Here are the dates for the Sheriff’s Office Town Hall Meetings in August.

Powell Butte Community Hall— August 20th, 7:00 pm

Ochoco West Meeting Hall— August 23rd, 7:00pm

Paulina Grade School Gym—- August 28th, 7:00pm

Juniper Canyon Fire Hall—– August 29th, 7:00pm

Crook County Library (Broughton Room)—August 30th, 7:00pm
